Graphics (marketing and exhibition) for ‘The Biba Story, 1964-1975’ which was held at the Fashion and Textile Museum.
The show explores how fashion phenomenon Biba become the world’s first lifestyle label. Fashion illustrator Barbara Hulanicki established a mail-order company selling affordable fashion appealing to a new generation of young women in 1963, which she named Biba. The exhibition focuses on the years 1964, when the first Biba boutique opened, to 1975, when the Big Biba store closed. ‘It isn’t just selling dresses, it’s a whole way of life’, Barbara Hulanicki.
As always it was a privilege to work with the team at FTM: Dennis, Marta, Beth, Melissa and not forgetting curator Martin Pel and Barbara herself.
