‘Zimingzhong 凝时聚珍: Clockwork Treasures from China’s Forbidden City’, was held at the Science Museum and showcased a collection of 23 stunning pieces of ornate clockwork automata known as zimingzhong. China’s emperors collected and cherished them for their intricate design and technical innovation.
I started work on the graphic design before lockdown and in spite of the long delay caused by the pandemic it was great to see how well it all came together. Zimingzhong 凝时聚珍 was on show in the Special Exhibition Gallery 2.
